A word on AI and communication - Is AI knocking us out (communicatively)?

The text discusses the increasing role of artificial intelligence in communication and the importance of maintaining human interaction. It emphasizes the need for transparency, empathy, feedback mechanisms, simplicity, ethics, responsibility, interactive dialogues, and cultural sensitivity in AI communication to ensure its value and humanization.

A word on AI and communication - Is AI knocking us out (communicatively)?

It must be said: Of course, computers can take over communication between us humans. If we are not speaking directly to each other. Of course, bots can continuously pick up information and news that match our profile via social media. If we can no longer control and perceive why we are receiving certain posts. Of course, algorithms can digitally serve us exactly what seems to interest us in terms of communication. It's kind of cool that artificial intelligence can increasingly automate this. And essentially look into our brains via data processing. No matter how much we discuss legitimate data protection and safeguarding our personal interests. The seemingly cool solutions already come as data treasures via satellite and broadband cables from the USA and China. And maybe sometimes from German servers.

Are we saving ourselves from communicating?

So, do we no longer need to speak and communicate with each other? #Are we saving ourselves? In the truest sense of the word? That seems like an interesting solution - in terms of cost efficiency and effort, if we can achieve that differently. Through AI! But let's be honest: Do we want that? Does it work? Are we allowed to and do we really want to allow it? Is it fair to us as humans to increasingly become part of a data machinery, almost its victims? I am really doubting this, without wanting to close myself off. How beautiful it is when we exchange ideas with friends, with family, when we discuss politics and society and our future. When we still read texts, watch videos and films that express opinions and feelings, and generate empathy not artificially from huge amounts of global text and information! And just as we have been seriously striving for decades to strengthen and preserve people's privacy rights with data protection, perhaps in vain, we must be aware that we must not voluntarily leave communication so extensively to the tech enthusiasts, but rather protect our personality as humans, our "self" - and ourselves!

Visions for us humans

This is not old-fashioned, this is visionary! If we want to shape ourselves and our human future, we need forward-thinking ideas and visions in any case - even more so - we need interaction, exchange, and creative design together. Credibility and trust in the content, messages, and information. How and whether this is still possible at all? Good question. I am convinced that we urgently need to increasingly focus on communication at all levels and discuss it actively: in companies, among employees, for customers and partners. It's about the right framework, the right approach and handling, and simply again the knowledge of what communication is, can be, and ultimately must be. Because only in this way can we succeed in creating values, generating emotions, especially building trust as an essential point, both in private and business environments. And only then can we get back on a real growth path.

Responsibility and Solutions

As a convinced media person and communication expert, I have been searching for the necessary steps and solutions in this immensely large upheaval of our completely transformed digital communication world for many years. In a sensible balance between human basic needs and values, and the necessary integration of technical, digital progress and potential. Because it is high time that we deal with it not with digital "self" surrender and blinded future euphoria, but with awareness and responsibility. It concerns all of us, as humans, as families, as entrepreneurs, in politics, as journalists, as scientists, as authors, influencers, or as marketing and corporate communication managers. Not that in the end it turns out: The AI knocks us all out (communicatively)!

And what does AI say about this?

The combination of valuable communication with artificial intelligence in a human, rational way requires some important approaches:

1. Transparent Intent: Clear communication about the goals and intentions of AI usage promotes trust. Users should understand why AI is being used and how it can help them.

2. Empathy and Understanding: AI should be designed to react empathetically and recognize users' needs. This can be achieved through training on diverse and inclusive datasets.

3. Feedback Mechanisms: Users should have the opportunity to provide feedback to improve interaction. This helps to adapt the AI to users' needs and refine its responses.

4. Clarity and Simplicity: AI communication should be clear and understandable, without technical jargon or complicated expressions to avoid misunderstandings.

5. Ethics and Responsibility: The use of AI should follow ethical principles. It is important that AI is used responsibly to avoid negative impacts.

6. Interactive Dialogues: Instead of just providing information, AI should be able to engage in interactive conversations that involve users and address their questions and concerns.

7. Cultural Sensitivity: AI should consider cultural differences and be able to adapt to different communication goals. By considering these aspects, communication between humans and AI can be valuable and humanized. What do you think about this?
