Christoph Keese and Lars Zimmermann Managing Directors, KPMG in Germany and Egon Zehnder strategic partners

Axel Springer SE is expanding its range of digital services. With the founding of Axel Springer hy GmbH based in Berlin, interested customers will be supported even more comprehensively in their digital transformation in the future. Axel Springer is responding to the increasing demand from the private sector and public authorities who want to successfully respond to disruptive challenges with individual concepts. Axel Springer holds around 60 percent of the company's shares. Just under 40 percent belong to the management and founders of the Berlin-based company "hy! GmbH", in which Axel Springer has been involved since 2013. The "hy! GmbH" will now merge into the new company. The managing directors of the new company are Christoph Keese, 52, and Lars Zimmermann, 42. Keese was previously the Executive Vice President of Axel Springer SE. Keese will continue to handle media policy issues at Axel Springer and retain some mandates. Lars Zimmermann was most recently the managing director of "hy! GmbH". The Chief Operating Officer is the lawyer Jan Wildhirth, 32, who joined Axel Springer from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 2016. The Senior Vice President responsible for the "Innovation Hub as a Service" area is Sebastian Herzog, 34, who previously belonged to the management of the Lufthansa Innovation Hub. Aydo Schosswald, Hans Raffauf, and Rupert Hoffschmidt, the founders of "hy! GmbH", will continue to advise the new company. The auditing and consulting firm KPMG in Germany and the executive search firm Egon Zehnder are strategic partners of Axel Springer hy. Axel Springer hy already counts renowned companies among its clients. The target group for consulting is primarily supervisory boards, executive boards, managing directors, and top-level managers. The focus is on the joint development of strategies and strengthening of their own innovation capabilities.
