From Author to Authority - Establish Your Expert Status

Have you ever thought about becoming an author? No? Then you should do it quickly. Because from a marketing perspective, nothing better can happen to you. We explain in two different approaches why. 1. First success, then the book Mentalist Thorsten Havener has always been writing, even if initially only for himself. In his idea book, he regularly wrote about positive experiences, thus capturing good memories, interesting encounters, and memorable coincidences. Why? Because, as he says, it helps him to focus. "Energy follows attention." So, those who note positive things, focus on them, their energy will always be positive. But before Havener wanted to publish his first book, he wanted to have achieved something first. To have gained a certain wisdom to be able to give something to people. Today he has already written three books. So for him, success came first, and then the book. A project that has certainly made him more successful in some way. Because with the books, he reaches a broader audience, he is now recognized more frequently by people thanks to his presence in bookstores. His face on the book cover is a successful self-promotion strategy. Writing books has also helped him to clarify what exactly he wants. Today, his focus is entirely on giving people something, teaching them something, and changing their perspective on life a little. In the past, he only wanted to entertain. His advice: Anyone who writes a book should be totally clear that the topic is one they want to stand for in the coming years. This helps the speaker to deal with what he actually stands for - because he will be speaking as an expert on this topic for the next few years. Brand positioning par excellence. 2. First the book, then the success For entrepreneur and keynote speaker Andreas Buhr, it was the other way around. He sees his own books as evidence of competence that helps to build reputation in addition to performance on stage. The business administration graduate and trained skier knew from the beginning how to sell things and generate additional income. At the age of 28, he was already at the top of one of the largest financial sales organizations in Europe. They made him the "revenue machine" and top trainer and keynote speaker. "Revenue Machine" is also the title of one of his books. Why does he write books? Quite simply, because the St. Gallen graduate does not want to constantly "jump out of the cake" for his money. If you want to multiply your profits, you need duplicable things. What could be better suited than a book? Speaking is his passion, but it only serves to sell products: books, training, and speeches. Just like a pop star presents his music on stage and further increases his profit by selling CDs. Through his books, bookings usually arise. Buhr sees the sequence differently from Thorsten Havener. In his opinion, an author should also become an author at the beginning of his career. This creates immediate clarity about his focus and expertise, allowing him to be specifically booked for certain topics. So, he goes from the book to the booking. For Thorsten Havener, it was always clear that he wanted to write a book - and do it himself! If you don't feel up to it, don't have the time or muse for it, you can also bring a paid ghostwriter on board. A ghostwriter is an author who captures one's thoughts and ideas, turns them into a literary work, and beautifully formulates things. His name will not appear in the book itself. If you choose a ghostwriter, you should first create a concrete concept that you can give to them. Clear ideas are crucial here. In the course of writing, there must be regular meetings to see if the book is heading in the right direction and if the topic has been hit as the speaker envisions. Payment is either based on a fixed price or an hourly rate. Are you interested in being part of a book project? The Excellence Edition stands for excellent knowledge from top speakers. It offers you the opportunity to present your expertise in an exclusive anthology alongside nine other experts. The Excellence Edition allows you and the other participating authors to solidify and further develop your expert status in your market segment.
