Ramona Kühne - From Professional Athlete to Speaker
Henry Maske does it, Jörg Gantert and Dominik Neidhart do it too. In addition to their activities as professional athletes, they also serve as speakers, each in different subject areas. This also applies to Ramona Kühne, professional boxer and world champion in three weight classes. Ten years have passed since her professional debut in 2006, during which the powerhouse woman has achieved victories and endured defeats. Years in which she has grown beyond herself and above all, learned a lot about herself. Now is the time for the next step - time to use the stage to pass on her experiences.
When you engage in sports, you quickly realize that the path to the goal leads through the valley of setbacks. Before one learns to fly, one often falls a dozen times. The athlete, however, usually recognizes sooner rather than later that it is precisely these moments that truly have the power to propel one forward.
Bruises and physical injuries are the least of what they have to fear during their careers. Much more are the mental setbacks that make one want to throw in the towel. At such a point, perseverance and discipline prove to be the lifeblood of success. Those who rise and fight instead of lying down with what they already have or can, will soon be able to adorn their heads with the wreath of victory.
Boxing embodies all of this in its purest form. The proverbial blow to the face, for Ramona Kühne, it is part of it. The fight begins in the mind. The fight to get up even when one can no longer - especially when others have already given up on you. Kühne sees many parallels between a professional boxer and an entrepreneur. In the business world, things can be rough and tough, blows are taken and dealt out like in the ring. One often has to fight - mostly alone. She wants to bring these parallels to her stage. In both worlds, according to Kühne, it is about power and position, which must be achieved and defended. One is vulnerable, but tries to hide it, must react flexibly, as in a 1:1 fight.
In addition, there is pressure. It creates expectations. Either created by oneself or by others. Pressure can make one stronger or break one down. Like all of us, Ramona Kühne knows the feeling of a heavy burden on her shoulders. At the beginning, she didn't really know how to deal with it, but over time her self-confidence has grown and she has gained more security. "Because if I am well prepared and enjoy something, I do not see pressure as an obstacle, but as a challenge," says Kühne.
Unfortunately, one cannot dedicate oneself to boxing forever, so Ramona has set herself a new goal: she sees her motivation, knowledge, and experiences as her future calling and also wants to show that one can win every fight with it.
