Business Boxing - Ciro de Luca in an Interview
At the edge of this year's CASH Trading Forum, we spoke with the comedian and coach about his very personal approach to the presentation topic
Business Boxing.
CASH: Mr. de Luca, boxing is one thing,
Business Boxing is another. How did you actually get into this sport?
Ciro de Luca: When I was around 30 years old and received an offer from ORF to host the late-night show, I was still smoking, drinking alcohol, and neglecting my health. The filming for it, my former job as a Radio RTL morning show host, and the regular walks with my dog Max demanded a lot from me physically. I knew I had to make a change and by chance got into Thai boxing, which did me a lot of good and gave me strength to continue in that direction. Boxing itself has always interested me, among other reasons, because boxing and tango dancing help in Parkinson's therapy, so it was clear to me that boxing promotes exceptional coordination skills. And just on the side note, through regular boxing training, I easily lost ten kilos.
CASH: What else has changed through boxing training?
Ciro de Luca: I have become much more resilient, both physically and mentally, more enduring, more focused, more precise, and ultimately more structured, and equipped with much more self-confidence. I have chased away my personal demons and soon realized that in boxing, you are completely on your own and focused solely on your opponent.
CASH: Actually, all qualities that can also be very useful in business.
Ciro de Luca: Yes, because all of this can be excellently trained with boxing. Incidentally, several well-known companies have already discovered this for their employees and have also booked it. After all, we have a boxing world champion, Nicole Wesner, and an experienced boxing trainer, Erjon Zeka, on our team.
We thank Ciro de Luca for this exciting interview.
