Head or paper?

The text explains memory training techniques using associations and visualizations to remember names, faces, vocabulary, speeches, arguments, phone numbers, and daily tasks more effectively. These methods enhance memory retention and recall through creative and engaging mental imagery.

Head or paper?

Head or Note?

Your memory can do much more than you think! With the "Geisselhart Memory Training Technique" you will remember what you want. It's easier than you think. Whether you want to store (customer) names, faces, data and facts about a person, or telephone or PIN numbers, professional literature, arguments, bullet points for speeches, even entire conversations are effortlessly achievable. The basic technique is association, that is, thinking and linking in and with images and allowing the feelings experienced during this process. Since this is the language of our subconscious, such information is stored much better, longer, more accurately, and securely than by simple repetition. How to remember names and faces:
  1. Observe the person, face, possibly distinctive features
  2. Hear the name clearly
  3. "Visualize" the name
  4. Link the image of the name with the image of the person, face, or distinctive feature
  5. Experience the linked image with all senses
  6. Keep the association a secret!
Examples of remembering names: Remember, for example, Mr. Wolf by picturing a wolf dancing. For Mrs. Vorderbrügge, imagine her standing in front of the bridge. Imagine Mr. Kuwalsky riding a cow on the wall skiing. For Mrs. Domaischel, picture her sitting on the (Cologne) cathedral while peeling an egg. Mr. Czerwinsky tells you that he wins with Cher (the singer) on skis. How to form associations:
  1. The more unusual and funny, the more memorable!
  2. Visualize your image or short film in your "mind's eye".
  3. Be spontaneous, don't dwell on finding the right association for too long, just go with the first one that comes to mind.
  4. Hear, feel, smell, and taste your image.
  5. Exaggerate.
  6. No pressure, stay relaxed!
Learning vocabulary made easy Very well-trained and talented memory athletes can learn with the method that follows 200 vocabulary words or more per hour! And you can also manage at least 100, guaranteed. The Latin vocabulary word "cubare" is very suitable for illustrating the procedure. What images do you "hear" from "cubare"? Please focus only on the pronunciation, not the spelling. Think of cow, bier, bar, bear, cube? Imagine a cow lying on a bier. Once you clearly see this and the cow is really lying down, you have just stored the vocabulary word. The German meaning is: to lie down. The most important tips at a glance
  1. Visualize the vocabulary word:
  2. Visualize the meaning of the vocabulary word:
  3. Link both images:
More examples: livre (French) - book Sounds like "liefre, deliver" in Swabian. So, I have a book "delivered". Bolso (Spanish) - bag Sounds similar to "bolzen," play soccer. And similar to "beult so." The children are now playing soccer with a bag. Or I need a new bag, the old one "beult so." Pamela (Spanish) - straw hat/ladies' hat Pamela Anderson completely naked, as the surgeon created her, wearing only a large straw hat on her head. Start with vocabulary words that can easily be broken down into images. Practice makes perfect: What may seem very unusual at first will quickly become a habit with some training. Once you have visualized 50, preferably 100, vocabulary words, the whole process will work really well. Delivering confident speeches: Use the numbered symbols shown here. Write your speech in bullet points and link the first point of your speech with the number symbol for one, the candle. The second one with the swan, and so on. The symbols go up to 100. However, for now, let's focus on the first ten. If you want to remember a speech for your field sales representatives, for example:
  1. A salesperson is always on duty. Keep your eyes open, as potential customers can be found everywhere. (Imagine your sales team going out at night with candles to find potential customers.)
  2. Every customer first buys the salesperson. So, build rapport and gain the customer's trust. (The salespeople are swimming towards their customers on swans. This is friendly and builds trust.)
  3. Always ask about the customer's needs. This is the only way to serve them according to their requirements. Then ask for the sale. Many customers simply don't buy because the salesperson doesn't ask. (Impale all wishes with the trident and then hand over the optimal solution impaled on the trident to the customer.)
  4. ...
Let's focus on the first three key points of your speech as an example. In reality, you would memorize all points with the number symbols above. When you think of a candle now, what comes to mind? And with swans? And with the trident? The images are still there. And you can describe in your own words what you see in your mind's eye. This is much more engaging and motivating than reading a speech. You can also link the number symbols up to ten with additional points. You can also use this technique to remember professional literature, texts, or jokes. Remembering arguments made easy: Suppose you are preparing for an important negotiation or sales conversation. Think of your key arguments that you must present. These should be mentioned in the correct order. Simply link your first argument with the candle in a quirky, funny way. Your second argument with the swan, your third with the trident, and so on... Then you can be sure to have all the important arguments readily available in the order you want, without having to think about it for a long time, immediately and confidently. This clears the way for your sales or negotiation success. Remembering phone numbers, PIN codes, secret codes instantly: Create a funny, absurd story using the number symbols and integrate the corresponding person for a phone number, your phone for your mobile PIN, etc. For example, consider the phone number of an important business partner: 9 5 0 9 0. The story could go something like this: You visualize your new business partner in your mind. A snake (symbol for nine) crawls towards him. He bravely grabs it with his hand (symbol for five). Then he squeezes it until it lays an egg (symbol for zero). The egg cracks open, and a new snake (nine) emerges, which, upon seeing your business partner, voluntarily lays the egg (zero). Suppose your bank customer card has the PIN code: 2 8 5 3. The scenario: You are in the bank lobby. Suddenly, a "swan" (Two) enters. It lifts its wing and takes out an "hourglass" (Eight) from underneath. It places it on your "hand" (Five). But you immediately defend yourself with the "trident" (Three). You won't forget such a quirky story. And every time you think of your bank, the little film will come back to you, and you will instantly have your PIN code ready. Daily plan in your head: Link what you want to do first, as with the free speech, with the candle. The second task with the swan, and so on. Daily Plan Example
  1. Go to the bank and get checks. (Imagine the checks dripping with wax from the candle.)
  2. Fill up the private car with gas. (This time, the gas pump is a swan.)
  3. Take the new customer analyses to the meeting. (All customer files impaled on the trident taken to the meeting.)
  4. Send an important fax to a customer. (Your fax paper is green and shaped like a four-leaf clover.)
  5. ...
These examples should suffice here as well. If you now look at the number symbols again, the tasks will replay as little films in your mind. With
