Leadership - Leading Yourself and Others Healthily
Leaders influence the health and ability to work of their employees. At the same time, they themselves often work at their own limits of stress. The goal is to develop strategies for "healthy leadership," to sensitize leaders to the topic of health, and to emphasize their responsibility - for themselves and for their employees. They reflect on the importance of health for their quality of life. They address how leadership behavior affects employees.
There are six dimensions of healthy leadership. The various modules on the topic of "Leading Healthily - Yourself and Others" each address selected dimensions. In a seminar, participants receive practical exercises and valuable recommendations for their hectic daily lives.
- Stress Management - How can I build up my own resources?
→ Pay attention to
signs of stress that the employee is sending and reduce stress in difficult situations by reminding them of successes!
- Work Atmosphere - What can you do to create a positive atmosphere in your team?
→ Start with your own mood: take care of yourself early in the morning so that you have
a good mood.
- Transparency - How can you become more predictable and transparent?
→
Avoid having a
poker face and using
irony, and show emotions. It's okay to admit when you feel unsure.
- Appreciation - Concrete tips on how appreciation can be implemented in the workplace
→ Express gratitude for their efforts! This shows that you have noticed the
employee's commitment.
- Interest - How can you show as a leader that you are interested in your employees?
→ Ask the employee for
their opinion, even on topics not necessarily related to work (e.g., about the soccer league, tax reform, or the weather).
- Communication - When is communication as a leader "healthy"?
→ Encourage your employees to share
their own ideas. Acknowledge them positively - and if one fits, implement it.
These
six dimensions show the areas in which health plays a role in leadership.
