Women in power or at the speaker's podium - curse or blessing? A female perspective on leadership in the digital age.

Leadership in the digital age evolves with changing styles, theories, and challenges. Effective leaders focus on self-improvement, social skills, and adapting to uncertainties, rather than striving for perfection. Leadership 4.0 combines soft and hard factors for success.

Women in power or at the speaker's podium - curse or blessing? A female perspective on leadership in the digital age.

We don't even want to know statistically how many intelligent people in recent decades have not only studied the relevant literature on leadership in paper form, but have also filled it with content, or how many of the younger generation among us boldly plunge from the analog world into the digital world every day and query Google with the simple result: "nothing specific is known." What one naturally must not, should not, and cannot say! And besides, who is one? However, one thing is clear to us, and we will no longer discuss this with you: Leaders, whether men or women, are important and ideally an indispensable added value to any enterprise. Every era has its leaders and leadership styles – deserved or undeserved – and styles, models, theories become outdated, catch up again, are discarded, rediscovered, criticized, pigeonholed, and then made acceptable again. Even in 2017, antiquated "leading" shines brightly in certified courses of relevant training academies. It is absolutely okay, but it does not prevent us from observing, reflecting, rethinking, and calmly, objectively, impartially, experienced, and creatively shaping and living leadership 4.0 in the present and for the future. "Please get to the point, what do you understand by leadership 4.0?" For us, CRIS, leadership is not a privilege, neither male nor female, nor a "wish list," but a service. But beware: only those who can lead themselves can lead others. We have become female bosses, entrepreneurs, because a fire burns within us that we use to ignite and inspire others. We do not just enthusiastically talk about our business ideas, but also put them into action. By the way, there are no implants for leadership as a passion, and nobody gets business ideas at Harrods. The best leaders, in addition to their expertise, stand out by being interested in people, challenging and supporting them, and creating conditions in which people can, may, and want to give their best. SF + HF = LS 4.0 – all clear? Soft factors added to hard factors multiply the leadership effect! Leadership is and remains a part of management that requires commercial, technical, analytical, but above all social skills. So, a leader or leadership actually needs to possess many skills. Especially for us women, who are known to question ourselves unasked for a lifetime, the same question arises again and again: "Where can we find this SuperWo(w)Man?" "SuperWo(w)Man and tips for all who aspire to become one!" They do exist, somewhere and scattered freely. Yes, there are super leaders who work excellently even without training or coaching, and there are others who learn to reconcile with their own personality and imperfections and still give their best. Why? Because voluntarily and curiously, with humor and improvisation, they take a fresh new look at their often entrenched actions and ways of thinking, rediscovering and/or expanding their individual leadership repertoire. They focus on their own perception and the process of uncertainty because the complex and complicated context in which leadership 4.0 takes place determines the demands, challenges, and decides on your leadership quality. With humor and improvisation, you learn more about yourself, learn to deal with uncertain situations, and experience why it is more effective and efficient not to claim to be "the perfect leader."
