#Motivation - New Work Space at Batz & Team

In this blog, you will learn how to break traditional structures in a digitized work environment and work much more motivated and agile. When it comes to doing innovative things, being flexible, and digitally networking, it is worth questioning whether a traditional office structure is still suitable today. The consulting company Batz & Team Management GmbH has been consistently focusing on "New Work Space" for several years. In principle, it's quite simple: All consultants and trainers use iPads and iPhones, work with cloud applications, and occasionally meet for meetings. These meetings take place either in the "Coworking Space" in Berlin or on the North Sea coast. There is plenty of space for creative exchange with a kitchen, rooftop terrace, and chill-out zone - everything is there. No employee goes to the office daily as a "Resident People." This saves time and money, reduces stress, and is environmentally friendly. Employees can not only better balance their personal and professional lives but also spend less time stuck in traffic. Just as a side note: Employees in the Netherlands now have a right to "New Work." What has been initiated in our neighboring country should also be politically feasible for us. The digital age is also changing the way we work. For a long time, there was a classical understanding of work in offices. This is an idea where one supposedly knows exactly what to do and what results it leads to. Primarily large companies still rely on mandatory presence and time tracking. This is supposed to ensure more performance, but mainly more control. However, the fact is that presence does not correlate with performance or goal achievement. Also, too often in the office, one is distracted by annoying colleagues and pointless meetings and cannot focus on work. We live in a digital knowledge society but often still work according to rules from the industrial society. It should not be underestimated, though, that many employees are still happy with fixed structures, routines, and being able to go to their office at 8 a.m. in the morning. 54 percent of participants in a study by the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and Organization expect that modern work structures like those at Batz & Team will characterize the future. "Strategic and profit goals would be better achieved. In addition, team spirit is lived more strongly, there is a higher level of self-determination, and the 'Employer Brand' is rated significantly more positively," according to the study.
