How to find and set your goal

If you just dream for a moment, what do you wish for? Dare to think big and fully immerse yourself in your wish. Would you like to have a lot more money or a new house? Or a completely different job? If you have multiple wishes, then prioritize them. What is most important to you right now? Make a gut decision. Or try the exercise from my book "My Wish Concert" and take the top 10 of your wishes and choose the one that is currently most important to you. Which one is particularly appealing? Which wish takes center stage? Describe your wish in detail and clearly: "I want to..." Another question that helps you discover your wishes is: What would you do if you had no fear? This question can help you identify the wishes and needs that lie within you, in order to define and achieve a feasible goal. What needs are behind your wishes? We don't have wishes just for the sake of having them. Behind what we desire, what we wish for, there are always fundamental needs that want to be satisfied. Often, these needs are not so consciously understood. It is important to understand the essence and needs behind your wish. You don't want a new apartment just for the sake of a new apartment, but probably you expect that your need for more space will be satisfied or for more nature because you love plants and want to grow your own herbs. You need an extra room because you need more space for your work, etc. What essence or need is hidden behind your wish? Once you have discovered the essence behind your wish, tune into the feeling that accompanies it. Our feelings have great significance in our lives. It is important to listen to our feelings and understand why something is important to us. Often we ignore our feelings and wonder why we are dissatisfied. Dive deeper into your wish by reflecting on the following statements: This feeling is important to me: ... When the wish is fulfilled, this feeling arises in me: ... This fulfills my need for... One thing is very important: When setting goals, it should always be primarily about you. What do you want? What do you wish for? What need should be fulfilled? Once you recognize and understand this, you can formulate goals. And you can often quickly fulfill a part of your needs, making you more satisfied with the current situation. This can make it easier to achieve larger goals. Or you can achieve the important feeling you seek in a different way. By fulfilling other wishes that are easier, faster, or cheaper to realize. When we do not isolate a goal but listen to our wishes and needs, it is not uncommon to hit two birds with one stone.
