After two and a half years of excursions into other weight classes, Potsdam native Ramona Kühne is ready to defend her world title in the super featherweight division at the MBS Arena on November 5.
Following her dominant victory in the lightweight division against "K.O. Machine" Ikram Kerwat, who threw in the towel after six helpless rounds at the Berlin Max-Schmeling-Halle in front of 4000 spectators due to an elbow injury, Kühne is now facing former Olympian and experienced martial artist Kallia Kourouni.
The opponent - young, ambitious, full-contact kickboxing world champion - intends to "destroy Kühne if necessary," as stated by the challenger. She is grateful for the opportunity to compete for the title, but equally ruthless in the ring. She is willing to give her all for her ultimate goal, the world title. Despite all the martial behavior, Kühne remains unfazed: "It's not the first time I've been confronted with such fighting words. I simply trust in my abilities and prepare myself at home as best as possible. Kourouni is a hungry challenger, fighting in the ring like a pitbull. But I'm pretty good with dogs. I will tame the beast!"
We are especially pleased that she enters the fight not only with the composure of a true champion but also with the Speakers Excellence logo on her chest.
She can count on the support of her husband and coach, the home-field atmosphere, and the frenzied crowd, but above all, it is her indomitable will and fighting spirit that make her not only an exceptional figure in boxing but also one of the most interesting and inspiring sports speakers in the German-speaking region.
Regardless of the outcome, Ramona Kühne always wins. If not fights, then in terms of personality, as she has repeatedly proven in the past after defeats.
