With the toolbox to success

Lecture at the "Heidenheimer Impulses": Michael Vaas wants to help people achieve their goals.

"The title of his lecture is "Get out of the hamster wheel." Next to it is a photo of Michael Vaas holding an hourglass. What does that mean? In the interview, Vaas talked about his strategies that are supposed to lead to success. On Thursday, October 6, he will speak about it at 7 p.m. in the Lokschuppen. Mr. Vaas, you call yourself an optimization expert. Sounds more like a machine than a human. How can a person optimize themselves? During my professional career in field sales, customer consulting, and management, I encountered three themes that stuck with me: Some people feel trapped in the hamster wheel, some don't know what they want to achieve, and some lack the courage to do what they want. Therefore, I have developed an optimization program to help people figure out where they stand and what they want. The most important thing is: People need to learn to act instead of react. So, not just getting upset about things, but finding a solution. It's about replacing the hustle that drives us with action. So, does the hamster wheel symbolize the hustle of today's times? Exactly. And the information overload. In the private sphere, it can be WhatsApp, in the professional sphere, it can be emails. If you don't respond immediately today, someone will call and ask what's going on. The current time pushes us to develop strategies to cope with this hustle. Are your strategies applicable to everyone? I am often asked why I speak of top success and top performance. Currently, everyone associates that with the Olympics. But I believe that truly everyone, whether an employee or a manager, can achieve top performance in their life. They just need to know what they want. My strategies are very quick and easy to implement and achievable for everyone. Can you track the successes of your clients as well? Absolutely. People often come to me and give me feedback that the strategies and impulses have helped them. What does such a strategy look like in practice? A topic that often arises is career reorientation. Then people come to me and say they are unhappy in their careers. I don't know the right solution, because the person carries that within themselves. But I help with my impulses so that people can view their lives from the outside and work on themselves. Because if you don't do it yourself, others will. With my strategies, I quickly reach a point where people say: Hey, that's exactly what I want. So, you are just the toolbox? That's right. I have the toolkit and support people with it, whether in lectures or separate consultations. You don't just want to help people achieve success, but also happiness. Are they necessarily linked? Yes, because it always comes down to the question of meaning. Today, where everything is getting faster, we have to ask that question more often. Because we only have this one life. Many people worry about the past and the future, but the here and now is more important. If I am happy with that, then I can achieve top success. Success doesn't have to mean money and a career, it can also be a happy family. What sets your strategies apart from the competition? I have three unique selling points. First, I have experienced everything I speak about. I have talked to over 10,000 customers about what they want to achieve. Second, I have conducted over 1,000 employee and coaching conversations on professional and personal topics. And third, I can draw on over 27 years of professional experience, where I combine business topics with down-to-earth experiences from nature, agriculture, and as a mental coach. Have the strategies also led to top success for you? Yes. Many people in my circle tell me how amazing it is what I have achieved in the past three years - since I specialized in optimization. With my founded academy, I have found the point I was looking for. Now I can pass on my knowledge to people who are running in the hamster wheel. So, I am a living example that my techniques work. What do you want to express with the hourglass? The hourglass is a favorite image of mine. It shows how time passes without being able to stop it. Everything that is at the bottom is gone. And everything that is at the top, we don't know. We don't know how much sand we have left. The bottleneck right in the middle is the here and now. And that is crucial. I often encounter people who say, "When we are old, then..." or "When the kids are grown up, then..." I believe one should not postpone anything.
