An important core statement of my own development for me is "Success is what happens when I think and act correctly!"
Therefore, this is also a quote from my new book "Superbrain - Change Begins in the Mind".
Change Enables Development
I am pleased that people are always willing to learn new things and continue to develop. I believe that we can constantly learn and our brain wants to learn because the process of learning influences our entire life, circumstances, and actions. The more we know about our personality, the more self-confidence we gain, which in my opinion we can and must promote and maintain until the end of our lives.
Just as a marathon winner trains his endurance, our brain must also be trained by constantly learning. That's why in the book "Superbrain," I work with specific methods that I have applied and developed over the past 20 years. This book is intended to encourage you to act accordingly.
Beliefs Influence Us
The following story shows how we influence ourselves with beliefs - and you can also apply the story in education, almost 1:1. For example, until 1954, there was a belief in athletics that it was impossible to run the mile in under four minutes. Generations of runners repeatedly confirmed this belief. One day, a young man named Roger Bannister stepped onto the track and said this was nonsense, and he did not believe it. The result: in 1954, the British student became the first person to break the four-minute barrier. This fact alone was very astonishing, but it got even better. In the same year, another 37 runners also broke this barrier, and within two years, there were over 300. Yes, it seems that belief does move mountains. But wait: Only for those who can believe in it and are aware of it.
Beliefs can be negative and also positive. There are negative beliefs that do not allow us to do things because we are convinced of their non-realization. On the other hand, there are positive beliefs that enable us to do certain things precisely because we believe in their implementation. So be aware that Roger Bannister went through a lot and he knew exactly that the negative cannot tolerate the positive.
The Four Phases of Success
- Phase: He implemented a new idea, was later successful with it, but was laughed at by many who were previously "established."
- Phase: He persevered, trained hard, and was even more successful than expected. Now he was viewed with suspicion and envy. His success was not appreciated.
- Phase: His success continued to grow, and he persistently trained to achieve his goal. Now people were afraid of him, and fear turned into aggression. He was criticized and fought against. Despite being fought against, he did not give up because he was on the verge of a breakthrough.
- Phase: He persisted until the end and broke the 4-minute barrier, thus achieving the goal of his dreams. He was successful with his crazy, impossible, unusual idea - and now all those who had laughed, envied, and criticized him were patting him on the back, saying: Bravo! I always knew you could do it, you will amount to something!
So, do not worry too much about your critics, always remember:
Goals and plans are the most important building blocks of success.
