Rock it, Speaker! stumbling blocks on the way to becoming a top speaker

For many trainers and coaches, it is a professional dream to stand on big stages and become top speakers,

to move the masses and earn over €5,000 for speaking for not even an hour! To get there, you think about positioning, a cool website, and surprising marketing actions. Unfortunately, you often forget the most important thing for success as a speaker: an outstanding keynote speech that touches people and truly inspires them! Without an excellent speech, it is impossible to become a top speaker. An excellent speech consists of unique content that fits the speaker perfectly and is skillfully staged. This requires work! Work that most people unfortunately shy away from. Over the past few years, I have spoken with many people who wanted to become conference speakers. Very often, they already had an impressive speaker brochure - some even had thick books with catchy quotes and texts in superlatives - but very few had a speech that met professional standards. Only castles in the air do not need a foundation! But it's like building a house: without a strong foundation, the rest is doomed to fail. The English word "rock" means, among other things, "rock". To rock on the big stages, you need strong content and an effective presentation as a basis. But what makes remarkable content and how do you find it? By the way, it is not hidden in the books and videos of colleagues! Here, the rule is: "Copy & waste!" Those who copy, lose! The market demands uniqueness and audacity! The speaker's task is to convey their own insights and experiences. Of course, these contents can be supported by expertise, such as research results or proven models, but the focus must be on the speaker's personality and individual views. This also distinguishes trainer presentations from speaker keynotes, among other things. Trainers are booked for a topic, speakers for their personality and unique perspectives! Content first! In my content coaching for speakers, an important component is biography work. Together, we look into the past of each participant. We search for outstanding achievements, special experiences, and extraordinary encounters. This makes the uniqueness of each individual visible. Following my personal success credo as a speaker: "Discover your uniqueness and present it in a marketable way so that others can benefit sustainably from it!" I am convinced that each of us has something very special inside, from which others can learn a lot. Those who have a story or exciting stories to tell belong on the big stages and will make their way as top speakers. How to playfully and skillfully stage these contents, we will look at next time!
