We say THANK YOU - Stuttgart Knowledge Forum

Jana and Gerd Kulhavy express gratitude by supporting "Olgäle sorgt nach," a foundation aiding ill children. They donated proceeds from book sales at the Stuttgarter Wissensforum, raising €3,000 to help children in need. You can support too at www.olgaele-stiftung.de.

We say THANK YOU - Stuttgart Knowledge Forum

We say THANK YOU - Stuttgarter Wissensforum Jana and Gerd Kulhavy have raised two "children" in recent years, both of whom are very dear to them. On the one hand, the Stuttgarter Wissensforum, which celebrated its 15th birthday this year, and on the other hand, their young son Leon, who already experienced his fifth forum there. Of course, the parental pride surpasses the organizational pride by far. Seeing one's own child grow up healthy and carefree is priceless and cannot be equaled by any professional success in the world. Out of this deep feeling of gratitude, the parents felt the desire to pass on some of what was given to them to others: to families whose children are less fortunate in life. They soon found the suitable foundation: "Olgäle sorgt nach," the social medical aftercare of the Olga Hospital, which belongs to the Klinikum Stuttgart, one of the largest children's and youth hospitals in Germany. With its interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and social therapists, the initiative has made it its mission to care for chronically or severely ill children under 14 years of age following their hospital stay, to provide advice to parents, and to ensure sometimes complex and costly follow-up care measures. In close collaboration with therapists, speech therapists, self-help groups, and local nursing services, efforts are made to spare the children further hospital stays. In expressing their "thank you" in this way, it was obvious for the Kulhavys and the Stuttgarter Stadtanzeiger, a major partner of the Stuttgarter Wissensforum, to include their in-house "Thank You Book." They decided to donate the net proceeds from all the books sold during the 15th Stuttgarter Wissensforum to the foundation. Subsequently, over 120 visitors purchased a book for a good cause and raised a donation of €3,000 during the event. On Friday, October 28, the Kulhavys and Mr. Bosch from the Stuttgarter Stadtanzeiger were delighted to hand over the amount, knowing that they had brought joy and relief to many children in the tragic circumstances of their lives.
