Easter - The Feast of the Easter Pigs

The text discusses overcoming inner resistance, setting achievable goals, and living in harmony with personal values to achieve peak performance. It emphasizes the importance of involving the "inner pig dog" in the process and finding motivation in values throughout the year.

Easter - The Feast of the Easter Pigs

Lent is over and we are once again giving in to the desires of our inner pig dog. Is Easter perhaps the new festival of the pig dogs? Indeed: At Easter, the pig dogs rejoice especially, as the exhausting resolutions of Lent are finally obsolete and the cozy everyday life returns. Resolutions are the favorite food of our pig dogs, which is why New Year's remains its absolute favorite festival. In a way, the "Festival of the Pig Dogs" takes place at New Year's: So much resolution food at once makes pig dog hearts beat faster, hardly matched by Lent. Is there an optimal remedy against the inner pig dog? No, there isn't. You simply have to deal with it, tame it, and get it on board. And the good news is: it can succeed. The trick is to show the pig dog that implementing a resolution doesn't necessarily have to hurt, but can even be beneficial. Once he understands that, human and pig dog pull together. Together is better, and with small steps, you reach your goal more securely. Once we have convinced our pig dog of the benefits of a resolution, he will realize on his own that he benefits from it. And since our pig dog is an ego pig, he loves to benefit. Another aspect that helps with Lenten resolutions is that they are time-limited resolutions – the inner pig dogs always see light at the end of the tunnel. So, the advice is: Take your inner pig dog by the hand and involve him! How can one live more consciously during Lent as well? Breaking out of long-established behaviors is often a difficult endeavor. And anyone who approaches it with the resolution, "Starting tomorrow, everything will be different," will surely fail. Formulate realistic and achievable goals. If you constantly have to force yourself, you are doing something wrong, so choose something that feels good to you and is also easy! For example, I keep a schedule book where I note my long-term goals as well as my personal daily goals. However you do it, it is important that you pause briefly and consciously remind yourself of what is good for you. Family gatherings like Easter are also occasions where we become aware of our values again. How can I motivate myself with values throughout the year? First and foremost, choose ten values that you want to implement over the coming year. Prepare for the start with clear goal planning by reflecting on three of these values every morning and considering when and where you will implement them today. But please do not overdo it, because if you take on too much, the pig dog will be happy. Why is it so important to live in harmony with your values in order to achieve peak performance? First of all, you need to be aware of what peak performance means to you personally. For everyone, personal peak performance is different, but the path to it is the same for all: Seek challenges within your abilities, push your limits, challenge yourself without overburdening yourself. Focus on your goal and stand behind it with head and heart. It is very difficult to achieve a goal that we only pursue on a rational level. Only when the emotional level also gives a clear "yes" to it, will we bring full force to achieve peak performance. To the profile of our Top100 Speaker Dr. Marco Freiherr von Münchhausen
