Welcome to the meaningful time

The Christmas season: the most wonderful time of the year. At least for many of us. It is also known as the "contemplative" time. Truly a very special time of the year. We are not only in the Christmas stress, rushing through the streets to buy gifts. No, more and more often we consciously take the time for ourselves and our loved ones. We take the time to look at beautiful things at the markets. We consciously think about what we like. How we can bring joy to someone. What meaningful gifts we can give to someone. We put a lot of thought into it. It's all about time. Accepting and perceiving time. How often do we hear people say: The year, the months, the weeks pass by in the blink of an eye. The year has just begun and it's already summer. And before we know it, it's the end of the year again. And personally, I feel the same way over and over again. I can feel that the Advent season is slowly passing by. A purely subjective feeling. Because 24 hours are 24 hours. The big difference lies in consciously perceiving things. Taking them seriously. Embracing them. Accepting them. Consciously pause. Mentally press a stop button and stand still to perceive how I feel. How I should use the time "now", we should do this more often. Not just during Advent. No, ideally daily. And that's how I imagine it over and over again. Like in a Saturday night game show: I press that red buzzer button. And I stop. I feel, perceive, and consider my next steps. An essential trick is to engage all senses. That's why it is called the "contemplative" time. What can we see, hear, taste, touch, feel, smell? The more precisely and detailed you can perceive things, the more intensely you will notice everything. And the slower time passes. You can lose yourself in it. Get into a real flow. If all of this happens in your mind's eye, in thoughts, in visualization: then you unleash all emotions. This applies not only to the Christmas season. Rather, these tools should accompany us daily. Because they are enriching. They offer a way to enjoy life better. You will notice how time passes more slowly. And how much more intensely you perceive it. In this SPIRIT: Merry Christmas.
