Imagination is stronger than willpower.

Roger Bannister's achievement of breaking the four-minute mile barrier in 1954 demonstrated the power of imagination over willpower. His success inspired others to believe in achieving the impossible through visualization and belief.

Imagination is stronger than willpower.

Imagination is Stronger than Willpower

Roger Bannister became world-famous in 1954. He had a great goal: to run a mile (1.609 kilometers) in under four minutes, a feat that had never been achieved before. "The human body has its limits," doctors, therapists, and psychologists said. They all agreed: Impossible! Moreover, many other runners had also tried to break this barrier and had failed. This further reinforced the collective belief that "Running under four minutes is impossible!" Roger Bannister was not bothered by this. In his mind, he ran the mile under four minutes over and over again. He used the power of imagination. He envisioned himself crossing the finish line with a record time. He saw his goal as accomplished and programmed himself for success. Even though he initially failed, he gradually made small improvements. Finally, on May 6, 1954, at the track of the University of Oxford on Iffley Road, Roger Bannister ran the mile in a new world record time of 3:59.4. What happened suddenly all over the world was fascinating. In the same year, 37 more runners managed to run the mile in under four minutes. Within a calendar year, over 300 runners worldwide had achieved this feat. Incredible! Suddenly, everyone could imagine that it was achievable. Imagination creates reality. Imagination is stronger than willpower. Until 1954, breaking the four-minute mark was considered impossible. Once someone achieved it, it was no longer a big deal. There was no new running style or miracle cure. The miracle cure was simply imagination with firm belief and inner certainty that it was proven possible. With his record run, Roger Bannister not only broke the magical four-minute mark but also shattered the mental blockage for the impossible. Everyone now knew it was possible. Every athlete could believe that it was achievable. That was the only thing that had changed. The key to this imagination lies beyond logic. French research engineer Claude Delpuech has examined this very closely. All movement sequences should be mentally experienced as real, including the desired outcome. Bruno Erni's Tip Beyond Logic: Place your hand on your heart. Take a deep breath and say to yourself, "I am a miracle child and I have unlimited potential within me. I believe in myself and my abilities. All my dreams, desires, and goals can come true if I can imagine it and believe in it." Every evening in bed, envision 4 future goals for your business success. Because here too, focus follows attention! Harness the power of your subconscious.
