Since 1996, Hansjörg Zimmermann has played a key role in shaping digitalization in Germany. As founder and CEO of the legendary digital agency die argonauten, he built one of Europe’s most successful agencies – with more than 400 employees across 11 locations, including Munich, Berlin, Moscow, Warsaw, and Zurich. International brands such as Audi, BMW, Coca-Cola, Deutsche Bahn, and Deutsche Bank relied on his strategic consulting.
Earlier in his career, he developed award-winning campaigns as Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather and Publicis (Zurich). As an early usability expert, he published “Good Webrations – Web Design and Perception.” His industry relevance is underscored by his role as a Cannes Lions jury member (Cyber Lions 2003 & 2004) and as the first Digital Board Member of the GWA.
In parallel, he has been teaching at media universities for over 25 years and has served as Professor at the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences since 2007. His academic focus lies at the intersection of brand communication, communication competence, and psychological resilience. In 2026, his new book “Scheiterhaufen – I Burn for My Life” will be published.
