Oliver Bierhoff

Oliver Bierhoff is a professional footballer, entrepreneur, and sports strategist who accompanied the German national team from 2004 to 2022 as a manager and sports official at the German Football Association (DFB). Furthermore, from 2018 to 2022, Oliver Bierhoff was one of four DFB directors responsible for the Directorate of National Teams & Academy at the DFB. Before that, he was a professional captain of the German national team and a star striker for the Italian Serie A club AC Milan. In the final of the 1996 European Championship, Oliver Bierhoff scored the first "Golden Goal" in football history. From 1996 to 2002, he wore the German national team jersey in 70 A-international matches and scored 37 goals. In 1999, he became Italian champion and in 1998, top scorer of the Italian Serie A league. In 2004, Oliver Bierhoff took over the newly created position of manager of the German national football team. In this role, he accompanied the German team, which won the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the Confederations Cup in 2017. As Managing Director of "National Teams & Academy," he united women’s and men’s football as well as the DFB Academy under one department and strategy for the first time in history and launched the youth football program "Project Future" together with the German Football League (DFL). At the end of 2022, Oliver Bierhoff left his position at the DFB. Today, Oliver Bierhoff is Chairman and Co-Founder of FINVIA Sports GmbH, which he founded in 2023. In addition, he works as a Business Advisor for the New England Patriots and as a Senior Advisor for McKinsey & Company, Inc.
