Prof. Friedbert Pautzke, Dr.-Ing, represents the electromobility teaching and research area at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences. He studied electrical engineering at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal Polytechnic and was active from 1986 until mid 1991 as a research associate in the Bergische Universität Wuppertal Polytechnic's Automation and Technical Cybernetics section.
Prof. Pautzke received his doctorate in early 1995 in the field of safety-related control engineering and metrology in the Bergische Universität Wuppertal Polytechnic's Safety Engineering faculty. From July 1991 until his appointment to the Bochum University of Applied Sciences, he worked in Krupp Mannesmann's steel mills, most recently as plant manager of a mechanical and electrical operation. Prof. Pautzke has been conducting research and teaching at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences and represented the fields of Metrology, Control, and Process Control Engineering in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science until August 2009.
In 2000 he served as invited visiting professor at the Alexandria Research Institute, Virginia Tech, Virginia in the United States. Prof. Pautzke has been representing the electromobility teaching and research area at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences since September 2009. Prof. Pautzke directs the Institute of Electromobility together with Prof. Wolf Ritschel, Dr.-Ing. (Automotive informatics) and Prof. Michael Schugt, Dr.-Ing. (Automotive electronics), and 24 research associates.
