Since the movie "Am Limit," even those not familiar with the mountains have known the "Huberbuam" (Huber brothers) Alexander and Thomas. Oscar winner Pepe Danquart filmed the mountaineering brothers attempting to break the speed climbing record on the 1,000-meter-high granite face of "El Capitan" in Yosemite National Park. Alexander Huber was born into mountaineering. As a teenager, he climbed over 30 four-thousanders with his father – his first at the age of 11. Time and again, the two demonstrate their skills with admirable first ascents, speed ascents, and free solo ascents. In 2008, they were honored with the Bavarian Sports Award. Alexander Huber graduated with a degree in physics, is a state-certified mountain and ski guide, and has been a professional climber since 1995. He is one of the most successful all-round mountaineers in the world. When he's not in the mountains, Alexander Huber is a speaker. Using analogies between mountains and career, he explains his philosophy to the audience: "Successfully implementing visions and ideas requires skillful strategy and planning. Commitment and activity put dreams on the path. Perseverance and self-confidence allow one to draw strength even from defeats. Values and goals support the development from the big picture to the whole. The source of all activity, however, is fed by the fundamental joy and passion of creating."
