“Axel Kleinlein was a member of the advisory board of the sponsoring association from 2011 as spokesman for the board of the German Insurance Association (BdV). His pointed contributions and the occasional exchange of blows with the representatives of the insurers, always factual and knowledgeable, were among the highlights of the meetings. I owe him many a look behind the scenes and a friendly exchange of ideas.”
Prof. Dr. Günter Hirsch, former President of the Federal Court of Justice, former ombudsman for the insurance industry
“Kleinlein is a rare breed among consumer advocates: he is knee-deep in his topics - right down to the smallest printed general terms and conditions of insurance. And he can be mercilessly sharp. That's why he is feared but respected in the industry.”
FAZ, 16.3.2019
“He must know, he's a specialist. Kleinlein studied mathematics and ... worked for the company [Allianz] before switching sides and ultimately becoming head of the German Insurance Association. Today, the man .... is one of the most persistent critics of life insurance.”
Der Spiegel, 8/2016
“Axel Kleinlein (born 1969) was Chairman of the Board of the German Insurance Association and is currently considered one of the fiercest critics of insurers.”
