Bernd Niebrügge is a cross-media producer and tri-media journalist. For years he has worked as a television correspondent in the foreign studios of ARD/Bayerischer Rundfunk, makes radio reports for public broadcasters and reports on social media. The current refugee situation and policy in Europe, the economic and financial crisis in Southeast Europe, investigative data research and the social impact of the "fake news" debate are his main areas of work. Bernd Niebrügge received the "Bavarian Television Award" for his work as a correspondent. For his investigative research in Southeast Europe, he was nominated for the European film award "Prix Europa". He studied politics, communication science and ethnology. Due to his regular stays in Turkey, Greece, Italy and Israel, he is familiar with the economic, social and political conditions there. Niebrügge was also active as a correspondent during the wars in former Yugoslavia, Kosovo and the Gulf region and continues to report regularly on the Middle East conflict and from the border area of the Syrian war. In his private life, Bernd Niebrügge has been involved with the organization "Journalists Help Journalists" for over two decades. This organization supports colleagues who are persecuted or in need around the world, as well as the relatives of journalists who have been killed.
