Christine Neubauer is one of the best-known German actresses, studied psychology for several semesters, took acting lessons with Ruth von Zerboni and Wolfgang Büttner and then went to the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York. Since then, she has appeared in over 100 feature films and has been awarded several Adolf Grimme Prizes, Romys, the Telestar, the Bavarian Television Prize, the Bavarian Order of Merit, the Bambi, the Golden Panda in Sichuan/China, the Film Prize for Best Actress in Seoul/Korea and, last but not least, the Golden Nymph in Monte Carlo. After numerous theater engagements, she made her breakthrough in 1992 in the role of Traudl Grandauer in the drama “Die Löwengrube”, followed by film and television roles of all genres, be it in “Krambambuli”, “Moppel ich”, “Die Holzbaronin”, “Hannas Entscheidung” or “Helden - Wenn Dein Land Dich braucht”, alongside Hannes Jaenicke and Heiner Lauterbach, television series such as “Die Landärztin”, “München 7” and “Die Pastorin”. But Christine Neubauer also made a name for herself as the successful author of the “Vollweib” series, “Das Leben ist Jo-Jo”, numerous cookbooks and her “Boxpilates - DVD”. “Giving back a piece of happiness” is important to her and so she has taken on the patronage of the ‘Christoffel Blindenmission’, supports Plan International and is an ambassador for the German Red Cross.
Christine Neubauer was first cast in film roles in the Ludwig Ganghofer adaptation “Der Unfried” (1986), and a year later in the award-winning historical drama “Löwengrube”. She received her first Adolf Grimme Award in 1992 for her role as Traudl Grandauer. After that, things went from strength to strength: in Frank Ripploh's rather thin erotic comedy “Taxi to Cairo” (1987), for example, she played a race woman who pretends to be the wife of a gay man in order to secure his inheritance. She only made one small appearance alongside Otto Waalkes in his movie comedy “Otto - Der Außerfriesische” (1989).
This was followed by roles in TV series such as “Cafe Meineid” (1990), “Forsthaus Falkenau” (1991), “Der Bergdoktor” (1992) and “Der Gletscherclan” (1994).
Christine Neubauer has received several Adolf Grimme Awards, Romys, the Telestar, the Bavarian Television Award, the Bavarian Order of Merit, the Bambi, the Golden Panda in Sichuan/China, the Film Award for Best Actress in Seoul/ Korea and last but not least the Golden Nymph in Monte Carlo.
