Vita

Prof. Dr. Dietrich Grönemeyer, born in 1952, studied Romance languages, Sinology, and medicine, receiving his habilitation in 1990. He is the director of the Grönemeyer Institute in Bochum (interdisciplinary and outpatient) and a professor at the University of Witten/Herdecke and the Steinbeis University Berlin. He is the founder of microtherapy, a combination of interventional radiology, minimally invasive surgery, and pain therapy. The physician, scientist (chairman of the Ruhr Science Forum), and author advocates for a new perception of medicine in society and for non-dogmatic collaboration between the various therapeutic disciplines. He has long advocated for the introduction of health education in schools and an hour of daily physical activity for every child, and through his foundation, he trains young people to become "health ambassadors." Grönemeyer, a back expert, is a sought-after guest speaker on various topics in medicine and health policy, healthcare economics, and medical ethics. His bestselling works include "Staying Human," "My Back Book," "Live with Heart and Soul," "The Little Physician," "Grönemeyer's New Home Book of Health," "Your Heart: A Different Organ History," "We Better Eaters," and "Doctor with Heart and Soul." Recently published, "Health! For a Humane Medicine" was released. Since 2012, Professor Grönemeyer has had his own program on ZDF: "Dietrich Grönemeyer: Life is More!"
