“I never had time for school!” It is therefore not surprising that he began a retail apprenticeship in 1964, one year before leaving school. Two years later, he started his own business with the “Carnaby Shops, boutiques in the original English style”. In 1970, he took over the WÖHRL fashion stores as managing partner with 5 branches at the time. He expanded these to 40 stores by 2002. In addition to retail, the trained commercial pilot established himself in aviation like no other. As the founder of Nürnberger Flugdienst (NFD) in 1977 (now Eurowings), he was a pioneer in regional air travel. With the takeover of the German BA (2003), GEXX (2004) and LTU (2006), he set new trends in scheduled services and made a name for himself as a successful restructurer. Today, his main focus is on real estate (TETRIS Grundbesitz GmbH), DORMERO Hotel AG, Ludwig Beck AG, WORMLAND and the Emanuel Wöhrl Foundation.

Hans Rudolf Wöhrl's strength as a guest speaker is his ability to combine his own practical professional experience with the organizer's desired topic. This makes his presentations more lively and arouses the interest of the audience. Due to his decades of experience in retail and aviation in particular, his approach is very service and sales-oriented. He therefore places particular emphasis on the customer's perception. Other focal points are not only sales-promoting topics, but also all topics related to cost minimization and the reorganization or restructuring of companies. Wöhrl is particularly adept at using comparisons and examples to turn uncertainty within the team or among customers into a positive approach, especially when restructuring measures are being implemented or planned. The supplementary subject area is very specifically tailored to his own personality. Where he wants to provoke the audience or make them laugh, Wöhrl, as the saying goes, “doesn't mince his words”. Using examples from the business world, public authorities, trade unions and management, he describes how their behavior has a paralyzing effect on the development of companies and the motivation of employees, but also on Germany as a business location.
