Vita

Jimmy Heschl is brimming with energy, especially when it comes to security. He relies on open and trusting exchange within a stable network and enjoys sharing experiences, viewpoints, and approaches to make the world a better place. He is Head of Digital Security (CISO) at Red Bull. He is also a board member of ISACA Austria, a sworn, court-certified expert, a lecturer at universities and technical colleges, and a moderator and speaker at conferences. He has been heavily involved in the further development of COBIT since 2003 and simply loves good IT. He spent 10 years in IT auditing and consulting at Big 4 companies and has over 25 years of practical experience in various areas of IT and corporate governance. Jimmy is passionate about motivating people to take security seriously, but not too seriously. He always does this when it makes sense and always with a wink. The required altitude - from the perspective of corporate management, legal requirements to technical concepts - is very flexible and is adapted to the audience.

Topics

Cybersecurity, hackers, and ransomware are terms no longer just familiar to technical nerds. Security has become a precious commodity in the digital world. It's not rocket science to understand the markets and mechanisms, and we're not powerless either, but a basic understanding is required to take an active position and thus address adequate security.

Innovation meets security. Both are dead.

  • Approaches to security. From risk, compliance, and other paperwork
  • Security "on top" for my products or part of the culture?
  • What can I do for security and when is it enough?

Security is more than compliance

  • Why should I (also) care about security?
  • Which topics should I consider and what comes first?
  • How can I establish a security architecture?

Security Management - Order in Chaos

  • Security is not a project. Nor is it a process. It's chaos.
  • Which instruments are involved, and who is constantly disrupting it?
  • How do I develop the elements into an orchestra?
  • When can I live comfortably with chaos?

Workshop: Priorities

  • Model for security, the "Areas of Interest"
  • How do I allocate my resources?
  • What are others doing (and how important is the benchmark)?
