Dr. Joachim Bublath embodied the natural sciences on German television like no other for almost 30 years as the inventor and presenter of science shows such as “Abenteuer Forschung”, “Die Knoff-Hoff-Show” and “Geheimnisse unseres Universums”. He presented the topics in a unique way, sometimes dry as dust, sometimes bizarre, sometimes serious and sometimes funny. From 1981 to 2008, he was head of the science and technology department at ZDF. The best-known of his programs was the “Knoff-Hoff-Show”, which became family entertainment and paved the way for popular science. The format was marketed in over 40 countries and translated into nine languages, including Chinese and Arabic. Dr. Joachim Bublath has been awarded the German, the Prix Jules Verne, the Bavarian Television Prize, the Prix Leonardo da Vinci and the Federal Cross of Merit for his work as a science journalist. He uses scientific approaches to provide his audience with new perspectives on problems and facts. With his son Matthias and his “Hammond B3 Band”, he brings the mighty oceans and jazz music together with “Oceans meet Jazz”.
