Julian Nida-Rümelin is one of the most renowned philosophers in Germany. he headed the Ethics Panel of the German Association of Financial Analysts (DVFA) and was a member of the Advisory Board for Integrity and Corporate Responsibility at Daimler AG. JNR is Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of Parmenides Academy GmbH, a think tank that trains and advises executives on philosophical and ethical issues.In recent years, Nida-Rümelin has dealt with ethical and philosophical aspects of digitization, also as head of an EU research project on the ethics of robotics (as part of the RoboLaw research cluster). JNR was Minister of State for Culture and Media in the first Schröder cabinet. He is a member of the Berlin Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the European Academy of Sciences and Humanities and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ethics Center at LMU. In October 2016, the Bavarian state government awarded him the “Medal for Special Services to Bavaria in a United Europe”.
