Formula 1 is a unique blend of business and sport, where strong leadership, efficient teamwork, split-second decision making and a clear focus on results are required to compete at the highest level in 20 Grands Prix around the world. Mark Gallagher has worked in Formula 1 for almost 30 years. He has held management positions at Jordan Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing and Cosworth. During his involvement at the heart of this fascinating sporting business, Mark Gallagher worked directly with the world's best drivers and team owners. This gave him an exceptional understanding of what it takes to compete at a world-class level. As Head of Marketing at the highly successful Jordan team for over ten years, Gallagher was renowned as the 'chief enabler' in Eddie Jordan's dynamic organization. He then moved to Jaguar Racing where he helped shape the transition to the now dominant Red Bull Racing team. He then took over responsibility for Cosworth's return to Formula 1 from 2009 to 2011. During this time, Gallagher was also responsible for supplying a third of the teams with engine technology. During his career, Mark Gallagher had worked directly with drivers such as Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard and Ayrton Senna. He was also part of the Jenson Button management team. Since 2005 Mark has been part owner of his own racing team based in Silverstone, UK: Status Grand Prix. The team has won several victories in the GP3 series, the talent factory for Formula 1, and participates in the Le Mans sports car racing series. Status Grand Prix won the “Best Presented Team Award” three times, the benchmark in professionalism and presentation. Today, Mark Gallagher runs a sports investment group, sits on the board of the Status Grand Prix team and uses his many years of experience in the Formula 1 industry to work with teams, sponsors and drivers. He also makes regular appearances in the media, most notably on Sky News. In 2012, he is a Formula One pundit and commentator for ESPN Star Sports with broadcasts in 24 countries and with 36 million F1 fans in Asia. In 2012, Gallagher published “The Business of Winning”, a book that shares his lessons learned from the expensive and fast-paced world of Formula One. His expertise was also used in the Disney Pixar animated films “CARS The Movie” and “Cars 2”. He made it possible for Pixar to promote the film at the Spanish Grand Prix through negotiations with the CEO of Formula 1 Holding, Bernie Eclestone.
