Matthias Mayr has a doctorate in sports science and has been a professional freerider, adventurer and filmmaker for more than a decade. He has made numerous first descents in the most remote regions of the world and won nine international film awards. He has been able to realize numerous projects that were considered impossible - such as climbing the highest mountain in north-eastern Siberia and the highest mountain on the uninhabited island of Onekotan.
Successful planning and implementation of seemingly impossible projects with high risks to capital, life and limb and low prospects of success.
“When I met you back then, after you had just got out of the helicopter - tired, hungry, freezing - the idea of inviting you came to me pretty quickly. I thought to myself, if someone can plan something like that, pull it off under the most adverse circumstances and still smile afterwards, then you are the right person for our company. We listened with fascination as you spoke in very simple terms and using very trivial examples about leadership, team spirit, goal setting, perseverance and of course about achieving the goal.”
Niki Schmidt, Board of Directors NSPM
