Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Filzmaier, born in Vienna in 1967, is a political scientist and communications consultant. He is a professor of political communication at Danube University Krems and Karl Franzens University Graz, coordinator of the international and interdisciplinary network for political communication (netPOL), and managing partner of the Institute for Strategy Analysis (ISA) in Vienna. ISA is a research company that conducts studies and strategy consulting based on social science data. ISA primarily focuses on public opinion on "public goods" (politics, economics, social affairs, education, the environment, etc.) as topics of social and media communication.

Peter Filzmaier is a political analyst for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) and a commentator for the daily newspaper Der Standard (2005 to 2007), the regional newspapers (“Filzmaier am Montag” and “Filzmaier zur Sache” as a column in Kleine Zeitung, Tiroler Tageszeitung, Salzburger Nachrichten and Oberösterreichische Nachrichten from 2007 to 2015) and the Kronen Zeitung (“Filzmaier Analyses” since 2015).
