Prof. Dr. Peter Neumann is a Professor of Security Studies at King's College London and directs the renowned International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR). He is the author of several books, including "Old and New Terrorism," and regularly publishes in leading academic journals. As a consultant to the UN Security Council and the Club de Madrid, as well as an expert witness in terrorism trials, he contributes his expertise globally. Prof. Neumann is internationally recognized for his research in the field of radicalization and terrorism.

Prof. Dr. Peter Neumann is Professor of Security Studies at King's College London, where he has been the director of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) (www.icsr.info), the world's best-known research institute on radicalisation and terrorism, for seven years. He has also been a visiting professor at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. since 2011. Prof. Dr. Neumann has written five books, most recently Old and New Terrorism (Polity 2009), which was voted one of the "top terrorism books" of all time by the academic journal Perspectives on Terrorism. He has published 20 academic research articles and is on the advisory board of the journals Democracy and Security, Journal of Strategic Studies and Studies in Conflict and Terrorism. Prof. Dr. Neumann is also a member of the research commission ("Investigator") of the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) at the University of Maryland. In September 2014, he advised the UN Security Council on the formulation of an important resolution against foreign terrorist fighters. From 2010 to 2012, Prof. Dr. Neumann was a visiting researcher for the Bipartisan Policy Center, a non-partisan think tank in Washington DC, and wrote two influential reports on the topics of deradicalization and radicalization on the Internet on behalf of the former chairmen of the 9/11 Commission, Governor Tom Kean and Representative Lee Hamilton. As an employee of the Club de Madrid, the association of former heads of state and government, he organized the International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security in 2005 and was subsequently appointed to the club's expert advisory board. As an expert, he has also testified before the US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee and the British House of Commons Home Affairs Committee. He serves as an expert witness in terrorism cases for the public prosecutors in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
