Heinrich von Pierer, born in 1941, went to school in Erlangen, studied law and economics at the university there, and earned his doctorate in law. His career began in 1969 at the long-established Siemens company in the legal department of the Central Finance Department. After holding senior positions in the Power Generation (KWU) division, he was promoted to the Managing Board in 1989, which he chaired from 1992 to 2005. top+ and the ambitious turnaround manager's 10-point program brought Siemens profitability across all divisions in 2000, achieving a record result in the company's history. As Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business from 1993 to 2006, von Pierer worked to intensify trade relations with Asia. In 2005, he became economic policy advisor to Angela Merkel and Chairman of the Siemens Supervisory Board (until 2007). With Pierer Consulting GmbH, he advises large and medium-sized companies on, among other things, the implementation of new innovations on the market and the development of growth strategies
