Vita

Prof. Dr. Reinhold Popp (*1949) heads the “Institute for Futures Research in Human Sciences” at the Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna. In close cooperation with this institute, he researches and teaches at the Freie Universität (FU) Berlin, where he is also a founding member of the Master's program in Futures Research. In addition, he is a lecturer for future-oriented research at several universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, a cooperation partner of important institutes for futures and innovation research, a consultant for politics and business, the author of a large number of publications - including several standard works - and co-founder and co-editor of the scientific journal “European Journal of Futures Research” (Springer Verlag - international). Professor Popp derives his analyses and forecasts from scientifically sound future studies and creates plausible images of the future, beyond destructive doomsday moods and uncritical all-will-be-well optimism.
