Thomas Huber, 51, the older member of the Huberbuam family, is married, father of 3 children and a passionate mountaineer. He is firmly rooted in his “Dahoam” (engl. for "at home"). This is where he gathers the energy for his steep, sometimes seemingly impossible adventures in the mountains of the world. But it is precisely this impossibility, which loses its significance at the end of a successful expedition, that is of great importance in the evolution of mountaineering as a whole, if not of humanity as a whole. Impossibility makes you curious, it is inspiring, it demands you and challenges you at the same time! Only here do we speak of a challenge, and only here do you release energy that will lead you to completely new approaches. But impossibility also means that you have to be prepared to give up, to recognize and accept this limit. There is also an incredible power of self-development in this failure. Failure can therefore be understood as development, a new opportunity, the next step to push the boundaries upwards! Fear often plays a major role in this borderline experience. This fear can be your best advisor, but it can also become your greatest enemy. It is always an important companion to question yourself, to dare to take the next step and to make a vital decision at the crucial moment. But fear can also prevent you from taking action! It paralyzes you and makes you unable to act! Tackling the impossibility requires a lot of courage and self-confidence!
Thomas Huber, a professional mountaineer, shares how his passion led to a sustainable profession. He emphasizes the importance of inner strength, partnerships, and courage in overcoming challenges both in mountaineering and professional life. He highlights the need for courage, resilience, and gratitude in facing setbacks and pursuing one's passions.
