Wolfgang Bosbach is a German politician (CDU) and lawyer. He comes from Bergisch Gladbach and has been regularly directly elected to the Bundestag since 1994. After training as a retail salesman and working as a supermarket manager, he studied law at the University of Cologne. He was admitted to the bar in 1991 and also works in this profession, as far as his many commitments as a member of the Bundestag allow. Wolfgang Bosbach has held a number of leading positions in parliament. Among other things, he was Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group until 2009 and Chairman of the Bundestag's Committee on Internal Affairs until September 2015. Wolfgang Bosbach is particularly well known in Germany as an expert on domestic and legal policy. Wolfgang Bosbach has what are known as genuine convictions and is also publicly committed to his political positions, for example when he appears in interviews or talks on television or at public events.
