Wolfgang Gerke is President of the Bavarian Finance Center (BFZ) in Munich. As an institution of the Bavarian State Government, the BFZ promotes networking between economists and practitioners through joint research projects and events. Prof. Gerke is also the owner of the Institute for Finance and Stock Exchange Frankfurt/Nuremberg GmbH and advises banks, companies, and public bodies on financial matters. He is committed to the ongoing development of financial market legislation. As Academic Director of the Frankfurt School/Bankakademie, Dean of the University of Mannheim, Head of the Finance Department of the European Business School, Research Professor at the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW), Advisory Board Member of the German Stock Exchange Institute, and as a member of the Exchange Council of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the Stock Exchange Expert Commission, he has repeatedly advocated for stronger networking between academia and practice. Known for his numerous television appearances, Prof. Wolfgang Gerke is a much sought-after speaker at corporate events and conferences.
