Wolfgang Kubicki is a German politician of the FDP (Free Democratic Party). He has been chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament since 1996. Since December 2013, he has also served as deputy federal chairman of the FDP. After graduating from the Hoffmann-von-Fallersleben School in Braunschweig in 1970, Wolfgang Kubicki studied economics at the Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel, where Peer Steinbrück was also a fellow student. He then worked in a management consultancy and a tax consulting firm. Later, he worked as a research assistant for the FDP parliamentary group in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament. While working, Wolfgang Kubicki studied law at the University of Kiel, graduating in 1985. Since then, he has practiced as a lawyer in his own firm, specializing in white-collar criminal law. He is considered an intelligent and sharp-tongued speaker.
