Vita

"Striezel" Stuck is arguably one of Germany's most famous racing drivers and a recognized racing expert. As the son of the "King of the Mountains," Stuck gained early experience at the Nürburgring, where his father held driver training courses. With a special permit, he obtained his driver's license at the age of 16. In 1969, he completed the Scuderia Hanseat sports driver training course and earned an international racing license through successes in smaller races. In 2004, he won the Nürburgring 24-hour race for the third time with the BMW Schnitzer team. A year later, Hans-Joachim Stuck finished second behind his teammates. In 2006, he retired after a nighttime pile-up in his private M3 GTR, along with the even older Dieter Quester. On April 28, 2007, Stuck suffered an accident at the Nürburgring and was seriously injured. Barely two months later, Stuck participated in the Nürburgring 24-hour race again with his son. Since January 2008, Hans-Joachim Stuck has been the Volkswagen Group's representative for motorsports. This includes advising the Board of Management on motorsport matters and participating in the strategic development of potential new sporting activities for the Group's brands.
