The graduate in business administration with a focus on marketing and communication learned the advertising trade at the renowned agency BBDO in Düsseldorf. After working in direct marketing (artegic AG) and the media (Hubert Burda Media), Weigand has owned the CSR consultancy karmacom since 2010. The focus of his consultancy is on developing strategies to generate economic success from ecological and social responsibility. His clients include large and medium-sized companies as well as NPOs. In addition to his consultancy work, Heiner Weigand is a speaker, author and board member of the Freiburg/South Baden marketing community and the Freiburg think tank. Heiner Weigand has also received several awards for the SME award for social responsibility in Baden-Württemberg.
